Bendigo Orienteering on a new map in Tarnagulla. It was a fun map, lots of technical mining control picking at the end. Lost a little time on 4 when the first of the two mapped pits was a long slot so I thought I was somewhere else, then lost a fair bit more time on 14 (along with nearly everyone else) because I really struggled to translate the map with the ground. Felt pretty tired tbh, quite stumbly and inefficient.

Had the shortest break possible to change shoes then headed off to make this a long run. Tried to put a course on my Garmin but couldn't get it to upload so made it up, got slightly lost. Definitely not feeling amazing - hips, ankles and feet sore and tired. Need to get back to doing strength!

Very frustrating run. Had to keep taking escape routes to avoid dogs and then the escape routes had dogs. Also my usual escape route, across the golf course, was not possible today because there were hundreds of people actually playing golf (how dare they!)

I forgot to say that I saw a powerful owl on my run! It was sitting on a post on the path next to the swamp and I came within about 1m of it. So cool!!

Victorian Long Distance Champs at Kangaroo Crossing. Enjoyed this very much, really fun course. Made a couple of small wobbles at #4 and #15 (probably <1min on each) and lost a bit of time going far too wide on the long leg to #8 (a pity as I was pleased with my route choice around to the right on the flat). Felt like I navigated well on the rest. Not taking it at full speed, both because I'm still recovering from my flu somewhat and because I'm still building my nav confidence.
