Chobot Challenge 13k (actually about 8.4mi) in Birdsboro, PA. InCREdible weather, just perfect! Brutal out-and-back race. They call it a lollipop, but the lollipop is only about 1.2mi, so really just out and back. A killer uphill out. Brutally fast pace from the start by the pack, which was fine by me -- more to pass. :) Only passed by 2, both on the uphill, and only one of them finished the race, so I think my pacing was about right. More analysis later.

I came in 17th of ~100. I may even get an award? It's cool doing this FROM the race! I'll let y'all know how the awards go soon.

4th in 40-49, in a deep field, so got a trophy. Cool!

Pretty darned hot. Ugh. So translation of tempo on grass, in heat, little climb is difficult to race on trails, big climb, and cooler (I think). But good to get out. :)
