Humid but cool. The creek was crystal clear, trail wet but well packed, so just about ideal other than the humidity.

2nd lap much slower than expected, but was working on HR pace, so that is not a surprise.

Good to get out.

Corporate training on the Schuylkill ... 8-seat crew. Really really fun stuff! Very mentally challenging, and quite a blast. We really got lucky wit the weather ... only a fine, misty drizzle now and again, which felt great.

We were on the water for hours, but generally not doing much ... giving it a 3 because there were certainly periods of grueling effort. Shoulda Garmined it.

400m race at the end, and our boat -- after a false start and then lagging in the first 100m -- tore it up in the second half for the win!

If it weren't so expensive and time-intensive, I'd love to make that (yet another) something to get obsessed about.

Veeery humid, but the cool (77F) temp felt just plain wonderful! Went a bit too fast, it felt so good.

Run in with a very aggressive young dog and idiot owner. "She won't bite you," says the owner several times, as the dog is blocking my way, bouncing back and forth, and growling and barking with hackles up, lunging at me every 3rd bounce to the side or so to within about 5 feet of me. I really, really got the sense that she was going to bite me (I'm generally pretty cavalier with dogs), and the owner's blase manner was incredibly annoying. She didn't (bite me), and he eventually grabbed her collar with one finger for about 10 seconds as I went by, concluding (as he released her again): "she won't bite you." And he was right! But I think she might have, particularly someone who was an easier target. I was kind of hoping I'd see them on the second lap, but didn't.

The encounter turned a fine time in the woods into a grumble fest, which is too bad.

Oh yeah, here we go. Darnit, I guess it was too hot, or to bouncy for the camera. Died after 7:20. Bah! It's almost unwatchably shaky as well (Youtube asked if they could fix it up at upload time), and crooked on my hat somehow. Heh. Well, slightly better than last time:
