Lovely day on the river. Happy to get out, it's been tough. Need to set the priority.

The heat & humidity were brutal today. Really a crusher.

Fencing 1:30:00 [3]
shoes: Absolute 2011 Fencing

30 min warmup & a bunch of bouts, foil & epee. Good fun. Not much goodness on my part, but it will come. June couldn't make it because of a conflict in her schedule. Hers is busier than mine! :)

Gorgeous day, wanted to do a bit of speedup. 8 x 30 second strides. Felt pretty strong.

Blistering temps all last week made this 80-82F and strongly breezy run seem like fall. A bit. But cooler temps are coming. Supposedly.

20 x hills. I'm really liking the Alligator Rock hill. 534' of 17.7% avg climb up. 17:33.2 pace on the hill section today.

Go Birds!

Fencing 30:00 [1]
shoes: Absolute 2011 Fencing

Back on the piste at Panther Fencing. June had a pretty good time, even though it was hot in gear and the epee was heavy for her, and seems to want to keep playing. Need a jacket and plastron in her size ... they're short on tiny gear.

I played 3 x 3 point epee bouts (not my weapon, but I'll likely switch to it) after June was finished and had a great time.

Sloppy but energetic 2-3 loss to Brian, a coach; 3-0 win with a student (15 yo?) who attacked with a sabre chop every time and kept falling on my tip after I parried; then 1-3 loss to Brian again. But my last touch was a really sweet avoid-the-circle-parry-and-advance. My only good shot of all 3 bouts, but nice to know I remembered something after 5 years off.

Running (2 x Crum Laps) 1:53:25 [2] 11.49 mi (9:52 / mi) +1077ft 9:04 / mi
weight:159lbs shoes: Salomon S-Lab Sense 3 Ultra

Another really nice "fall is coming" day. Humidity bumped up a bit in the woods, but the coolness (70-74F) more than offset it as an issue.

Started slow, sped up throughout. 51:32 1st lap, 49:09 2nd. Felt really solid on the uphills, no slog at all. At some point I realized I was only going 11 miles, and it really felt like a treat. #perspective

A lot of dogs out, and I suppose I'm still PTSD from my bite as I did a lot of stopping.

Happy Labor Day!

A lovely breeze! Thanks Hermine!

17:36.7 on the hill only section.

Then to the barber for Fall haircuts for me and the gals, then Head Nut for treats (blueberry, cranberry, cashew, & white chocolate? Dang!), Co-Op for flowers, and The Inn for a last minute dinner reservation (and flower drop off) to celebrate 11 official years of wedded bliss with my honey, JKoczak.

Huge thanks to hughmac3 & juliemac for agreeing to host a sleepover with the gals tonight, even though I didn't ask till 4pm, and they already have other guests coming over! My saviors. Whew!
