June & I did some streamering @ Ridley for hughmac3. Unbelievably nice day, wish we could have made it down to Fair Hill.

Wow, running. What a beautiful day! Wanted to check out the new South Street bridge. It's not as done as expected, but that allowed me to discover some new stuff, too. Excellent little out-and-back.

Note

I'm no longer sick (huzzah!), just busy and lazy.

Event: Hickory Run

9 AM

Orienteering (Vetting) 1:00:00 [4]
(sick) shoes: Inov-8 Mudroc 290

Waked up and double-checked a set of controls for the middle at HRR. Somehow I forgot one! Shucks, had to head back out for more. ;) There were snow flakes in the air, but the energy was high and the scene festive. I think folks really had a good time.

It was a pleasure to talk mapping with Eric W., about his decision-making process, the HR maps in general, and the trade offs a mapper must face with any map ... and then actually GO to the spot we were discussing and look at it in person. I hope to someday be knowledgeable and skilled enough to be worthy of the time he has already spent with me.

Various vetting duties for Hickory Run Rocks ... rainy and cool, but still a great time in the woods, and a true pleasure working for the awesomely-well organized and skilled Sandy F. and Ralph T.

Still have a cold, but no more tummy issues. It was a pleasure to blow my nose without a tissue, every 5 minutes, with no one to see or hear.

Speedup 8.5min/mi > 6.5min/mi then 5 of slow. Perused the US Champs day 2 Red X for the first (slow) half of the run ... tough even on a treadmill! Too hot in the gym, still sick a bit too. Good to get a run in though.

HAPPY FIRST BIRTHDAY JUNE!!
