TNT - decided to try to jog again and see how my knee felt. Did 1.5 miles on the drive at an extremely slow shuffle (12:30 pace or so). Was planning on 2 but could feel that my knee was start to get sore so slowed down to a walk. Karl easily managed to walk at the pace i was jogging. Even I could walk at almost the same pace. But you have to start somewhere.

Knee locked up in the evening but that was after standing on it for too long while cooking. An ice pack and ibuprofen got it back to normal by later in the evening.

Got rid of lots of Thanksgiving leftovers for dinner!

Core DVD. The ab stuff is getting easier but my shoulders are not happy with the plank stuff. I stopped doing the pushups because they were starting to hurt; not sure what that's all about.

Traipsing around up at the Water Gap looking at possible arenas, parking areas, bus drop off points, etc. Did a little low key hiking but mostly a lot of driving around.

Had some dental work done yesterday and have a very sore jaw today. Glad my Thanksgiving celebration is tomorrow and not today!

And very nice that it's soup season again and Karl is already in full stride with an excellent bean soup last night. Supplemented by fantastic pumpkin muffins from Nick. Need to get back to running so I can keep eating...

Hike in the Wissahickon with about a half-dozen "jog for 100 paces" spots. Found a new trail that sort of stops but sort of connects to the short hill loop making for a shorter loop.

TNT - walked the perimeters of the Penncrest fields. Now that I know the layout a little better I can easily extend this. Finished on the track and jogged one lap. My knees didn't complain either during or after. I felt like a slug however. During the jogging, that is - the walking was pleasant.

Hiked over to Chestnut Hill to order my turkey at the Farmer's Market.

Arghhh. When I reprogrammed the epunch controls after the A event I screwed up and the boxes labeled "Clear" were programmed as "Finish". The controls were used at an event in NJ today and I wasn't at the event and so the problem wasn't figured out until late in the day. And apparently 400 people showed up at the event and it was a nightmare for lots of other reasons, but certainly not the day to have the epunch screw up. Phooey.

OK - the start of a new training plan. Core or yoga workout twice a week, and hiking, biking, or jogging outings totalling 2 hours each week. This should be easy but I want to set goals that I can attain so I keep to it. I also want to lose 8 lbs. in the next two months. Again, shouldn't be too hard since I'm packing quite a bit extra at the moment.

And to complete the new start, I got my hair cut short again.

I always seem to end up schlepping clothes - whether I'm event director or course setter.

Doing the existence check in the morning was fun - I drove to all the WY controls in the campground - even turned a few controls on by reaching out the car window!

I had an absolutely awesome technical crew this weekend. They made all the vetting and existence checks go like clockwork. And enough DVOA members pitched in so that I didn't have to pick up a single control!
