Running long 4:40:10 [3] 36.9 km (7:36 / km) +715m 6:55 / km
shoes: Salomon Sense Mantra

Long run from home. Out to Barton Hwy then because of the fog I changed my plan and headed down the road then out across Gungahlin past Mitchell then horse trails to EPIC, around the north of Watson and onto some Majura trails. Met up with Devil at Hackett car park at 8 - he was an hour into a three hour run. Headed towards Ainslie on some single tracks for a while which was a nice change to the usual route. Kept on around the base of Ainslie then went to the top via The Quarry. Devil managed to 'run' the whole way but I was walking because it is just too steep. Grabbed some water then down the CCT and over Hackett Hill. Devil headed off a bit faster and further than I wanted to do. I went up the GMFT and zig zags to the Majura saddle then back to the car. Ran with MaryMac for the last 5 mins.

Breakfast at Deli Marco was good food/drink wise but the wait to order and then for food was getting a bit too long. Coffee, milkshake, and bacon and egg bagel was yummy - after I asked for some sauce and was given more than I needed so went a bit nuts.

Running 29:10 [3]
shoes: New Balance 890 v2

Run from home down to Lake G for Parkrun. Very foggy in parts, especially crossing Ginninderra Drive. Arrived with great timing at the end of the briefing.

Running race 21:42 [4] 5.0 km (4:20 / km) +12m 4:17 / km
shoes: New Balance 890 v2

Parkrun at Ginninderra with quite a few orienteers including Frogga, robw, LazyDave, BB and Acejase - but no girls this week. I started comfortably and was surprised to see Garry (my age group competition) in front of me after a few 100m but passed him as he slowed, or I got into a better rhythm. Went through 1km in about 4:10 which is good for me. From then on I just concentrated on driving my arms, being more upright and relaxed. It felt easy until the last 500m when I had a glance at my watch and realised I was doing ok so pushed a bit harder. Ended up 5 sec off my PB but its the 2nd fastest I have run there so pleased. Just need to harden up and push it the whole way.

BB showed a couple of weeks cross country skiing in Canada is good prep for running by running a big PB today!

Home for a quick shower then had a nice coffee and croissant at Beppes with MaryMac and BB.

Run from home out to Hall then along the CCT towards One Tree Hill. Got drenched after about 15 mins then the rain passed. Took my tiny little backup light and needed it on the way back. Lots of puddles to splash through.
