Solo Sunday long run from Hackett. Acejase had encouraged everyone to go to Deeks Drive at 9am for an alternative special run. The run is being organised by Deek and friends to remember the area before it is bulldozed to build Jo and Shep's house. The run is only 2km, but they were going to do a wee bit more after. I decided that I wanted to get my run in a bit earlier and I still find running out there without the trees a bit depressing.
I headed north to the very end of Mt Majura West and thought about heading across to Goorooyaroo, but the horse trail just stops. So I retrurned along the top side of the MMW area, then past the triple tri turn off and took the next track up Majura. Once past the stone steps the track became a bit of a quagmire until I hit the main fire trail. From there to the top of Majura was quite solid. Back down to the saddle near the pines then over Hackett Hill and back around the lower fire trail to the car.
It only rained very heavily once, when I was starting up Majura, and for the rest of the time it was just sprinkling/misting rain. My shirt got wet and heavy, and the cool weather meant my nipples got a bit raw towards the end. Finally I decided to just run without a shirt and it was strange at first, but it was almost warmer than having the wet shirt on. Luckily no-one was around.
Breakfast at home - MaryMac went and bought some croissants from Evatt bakery while I had a nice hot shower. Sat down and watched the Wallabies demolish France. A fun way to end the morning.
