Bike - MTB 54:00 [3]
shoes: asics GT-2130

Mountain bike ride with Bruce and Heffer at Stromlo. A mixture of fire trails and some nice single track ie. no rocks, and a lap of the criterion track - 'smooth as bro'.

It was late in the afternoon and very still, and such a change from last weekend - I only saw four other people riding.

Running 32:00 [3]
(injured) shoes: asics GT-2130

Lunchtime run from work around Lake Gininderra with Mark and Duncan. They started off at a good pace, but after about 15 minutes they slowed a lot. On the other hand I felt a bit 'bleagh' at the start but came good at about the same time they started slowing.

My right hamstring was still feeling a bit tight and sore, and I need to get back to the achilles stretching/strengthening on a more consistent basis.

Note

First 7 day stretch for quite a while. Mixing up the running with the bike and swimming helps.

Swimming 40:00 [3] 1.0 km (40:00 / km)
shoes: bare feet

Lunchtime swim at CISAC. 4 x 250m sets. Much nicer than Monday night - I had at most one other person in my lane and half the time it was just me.

Orienteering race (Yarralumla Bays) 40:31 [3] 5.6 km (7:14 / km)
shoes: Asics GEL Trabuco

Summer Series #1 at Yarralumla Bays. A 'compact' course full of dog legs, and repeated climbs over the ridge, but it didn't matter because it was a beautiful Canberra evening and I was having fun.

Only one small mistake of about 30 seconds at number 11 when I misjudged my direction into the control so overshot. The rest was clean and steady, with a bit of walking, but not too much.

I wasn't too sure how I would go, injury wise, so I did take a couple of Voltarin about an hour before I ran. In the end my hip wasn't painful, just a bit sore. My gluteous was quite tight and sore, which is a good thing - it means my strengthening exercies must be working.

Running warm up/down 10:00 [2]

Running 43:00 [3]
(injured) shoes: asics GT-2130

Run with Heather from Girralang pines to Gungahlin Hill then out to Palmerston, and return. Nice weather for a run.

Swimming 40:00 [3] 1.0 km (40:00 / km)
shoes: bare feet

Swim at CISAC with Heather. We got there at about 7pm and it looked very busy, so I asked the woman at the front desk if there was public swimming. She said Yes, that half the pool was being used for water polo practice, but there were 5 lanes for swimming. When we got changed and over to the pool we discovered there were only 2 lanes; the other 3 were being used by some swimming squad. So it was a bit crowded in the lane, and not that enjoyable.

On the way out I stopped and told her what's what - but in a very quiet and calm way. She looked a bit blank, then said that her information had 5 lanes as being available. Then she gave me a refund.

So we will definitely be avoiding CISAC in the evenings.
