Note

Listened to some great podcasts on my long run. I recommend them all (but the interviewer is annoying on the Syed and Macey interviews):

Matthew Syed (author of Bounce - all about talent v training)
http://www.maximisepotential.co.uk/matthew-syed-au...

Dean Macey (Decathlete and essex boy)
www.maximisepotential.co.uk/dean-macey-internation...

Dave Brailsford - recorded about 8 months ago so doubly fascinating to listen to his predictions for the olympics and TDF- he would not be drawn on predicting medals because it was a non-controllable. His greatest predictor for success was the extent to which individuals were able to consistently adhere to their (massive) training schedule: http://downloads.bbc.co.uk/podcasts/fivelive/victo...

Running 4:00:00 [2] 20.5 mi (11:42 / mi)

Took the afternoon off work to get a long run in. In prep for the Dragon's Back race which I impetuously entered last week (Shane has assured me it will be fun).

Out from Edale across Kinder to Hagg Farm, Fairholmes (the long way round), Back Tor, Agden, Damflask, home. Absolutely beautiful out today and I enjoyed soaking up the rays and the views.

Thirsty work (drank 2 liters) and both achilles were achey by the end (something that has been re occuring during the last couple of weeks). In my head I was going to take this easy enough that it would feel easy but truth be told it was a bit of (an enjoyable) slog. This was, at best, half a Dragon's back day (gulp).
