Core stability & flexibility session, 1st time in about a month (?) which is shocking and might have something to do with poor performance at JK. P-80.

Easy run from house down to Dunnottar Woods to recce the Friday Sprint course with Adrian W.

Had wee dizzy feeling about 10 mins before we set off but didn't really think about in much. Felt really really easy on way down, and then cruised up hill to start of course.

Loop round southern half was really easy going and it didn't work me hard, had no worries at this point.

Later on second half I got another dizzy spell after I slowed at one control site, I started to get a weird deja-vu type feeling, as if all the events of the past hour or so had panned out exactly before in my mind. Really unsettling.

Happened again later on, stopped and tried to refocus, took a good minute to go away, was not able to hold a conversation for a bit. :/

Run back up hill felt totally fine, no more issues, but after I'd had a shower I had same sensation two or three times more. Really freaked me out each time, I have to stop and really try and focus my mind on something else. Deja-vu is the only thing I can describe it as, but it's horrid.

Stocked up on food, then had a chinese which seemed to do the trick and I never felt it again.

Warm up run with Scott to Leisure Centre, steady downhill.

After everyone grouped we headed out for warm up round Cowie, up to Ury Estate (layby with trees)

6 x Strides (85% intensity)

Short Speed session with SRC in Ury Estate. Slight downhill out, slight uphill back (minimal). Drizzly wet and quite cold.

Head out from layby for 1 min fast, 2 mins active recovery, then start from end point and try and get back to original start in 1 min. Repeat 5 times (10 sprints total).

Really great session with Steve, Neal and Dennis all pushing each other, good laugh and really hard work.

2 mins out and 2 mins back doing a snake

Long warm down via Bairds Pk and Mineralwell Pk.

Calfs feeling pretty tight at end. Feel great having do it though.

Ate lunch about 14:30, then Fajitas for dinner at 17:30 ish. Was too full of food for the session, somehow it stayed down with all the effort I was putting in.

Another lazy day, too much going on. Never managed to get Core stuff done. I need to work on making this a priority or my SIJ pains will start to return. That's at least 3 weeks now I've not been doing any core stuff, wonder if this had any effect on my running speed/strength at JK?

SRC - Short Hills Session

W/up run from LC up to Heugh, across to Arduthie Rd then down to end of Robert St.

Hill reps were from here up to Mary St,v steep down to Ann St, and back, then up to Mary St, v steep up to Gurney St, and back, then up to Clashfarquhar House doors at top of Robert St and back. (Formed a cross shape)
Active recovery up to Slug Rd then repeat (total of 5 times)

Felt good (ish) on 1st and 2nd set, but was needing a pee, during 3rd set I realised Library was open still so after 3rd set I nipped in for pee instead of active recovery. Meant I lost touch with lead group, so had to grind out last two solo, was good effort though and pushed hard right through.

Def need to work on some longer hills, think the Clachnaben HR route will be a good challenge this weekend... If I can allocate the time

1st day back at work, was a zombie all day, glad it was local holiday so really quiet. Hoping to get a wee run in the evening after Ols in bed but had dinner then had to call loads of folk to bail out of trip to lakes this weekend with ScotJOS. Gutted, wanted to have fun in the fells, but have to do right thing and be near home if Kate goes into labour early...
