Note
(rest day)

Was planning to try and sneak in a run this evening but Kate was feeling crap and getting some contractiony type aches (!!) so we went to ARI to see midwife and spent 5 1/2 hrs waiting for checkups and results and stuff... had KFC for dinner (BOKE).

Neck improving now, sore but not troublesome.
11 AM

Golf 4:00:00 [1]

Nice day for a round at Crieff GC. Started well with par, then a few bogeys. Putter was not working at all well, finished 9 with a cracking birdie 4, 110yd wedge to 10ft and sank putt!

Back 9 was even nicer than front, again started well with par, then slipped back with some scrappy stuff. Managed a couple of nice cheeky shaped shots round trees from rough. Great recovery chip from below green on 13 to set up par, then finished on 18 with a lovely birdie, nearly drove green, left myself a 10ft putt, which I knocked in in front of the clubhouse. NICE!

Stayed mild all day, sunny most of time too. Looking forward to run later.

Running Training tempo 42:08 [3] 8.05 km (5:14 / km)
shoes: Saucony Progrid Ride 3 (Blue)

Post dinner tempo run with Alex. Last chance to run around Comrie area before we head off tomorrow so tried a new route, headed out of town along Braco road and turned left onto a trail. Cut across back of town to meet road we set out on.

Alex wanted to hit to 5 mile mark so we headed back towards cottage. It was getting more and more dark so we sped up gradually along the last two miles. Was a lot of fun. Turned back at cottage and did 0.55 miles back towards Comrie before turning back and hacking along at speed to finish.

Good end to a fun week of running every day. Felt good but V tired.

Neck still a little sore but def getting better today.
9 AM

Walking 45:00 [1] 4.0 km (11:15 / km)

Walk back from garage in Comrie to cottage after dropping car off to get window forced back closed.

Didn't plan to walk whole way but lack of signal at cottage meant no-one could get signal to take my call. :(

Still it was a nice day and was good for me.
4 PM

Running Training hills (Trail Run) 1:23:40 [3] 12.07 km (6:56 / km) +907m 5:02 / km
shoes: Adidas Swoop 2

Slow trail hill run with Alex, from Comrie.

Same start as yesterday's run, up past golf course, then through woods and Eastwards across ridge. Bailed out of wild moorland run as both feeling a little jaded, reward was a lovely grassland path across some moor and then join up with same route up over Melville's Monument again.

Found it tough going, especially the hills. Was liking the steady pace though.

Took some cracking pics, will try and post them somewhere online if I work out a decent place to store them.

SUSPECT HILLCLIMB FROM GARMIN, NOT SURE WE DID A MUNRO TODAY< THINK I'D FEEL WORSE - CHECK OUT.

10 AM

Orienteering race 43:32 [4] 5.4 km (8:04 / km) +235m 6:37 / km

JK Relays - Senior Men's 120+

Not feeling too excited standing on start grid, felt sure we would hike up hill at start, and we certainly did. Legs were buring by time I got to No 1. Uphill to No.s 2, 3 and 4 were really tough. Second loop was nice, but really struggled to feel good running.

Slogged along to No 11, then loop round to 14 was harsh, big climb hurt a lot. Wasn't much fun for rest of course, but kept plugging away.

Nice evening, bit chilly but rain stayed off. Tried new 3/4 leggings, they're pretty good for running in.
