ooo look, there's a ski area in the backyard. super slow run up the easy trail, trying to be nice to the sore back. survived two more days of moving and cleaning, with the worst thing I did to it being vacuuming the dusty rooms and sneezing, which is unstoppably painful.

Note

also met the neighbors. they were siphoning gas out of their friend's truck.

Note

got the moving truck today, driving over all the big stuff. slipped on some ice unloading a big heavy box and pulled something in my back, and it's been hurting more and more all day, so I skipped the workout tonight. wtf ice? it's june, and 75 degrees. it did sortof snow a little last night though...

hiking 2:00:00 [3] 9.6 mi (12:30 / mi) +1000m 9:27 / mi

Hiked up Mt Tallac (9700') from Fallen Leaf Lake. Clear of snow for the first third, then in and out of snowfields until it started climbing up out of a NE facing bowl and the trail disappeared into the cornice. Did a little detour around that up a steep scree slope on the north side, which was good for a couple ankle traps, but then crossed over to the dry east side of the ridgeline for the last 1200' or so. Sweet views of South Lake Tahoe from the top, and visits by all the usual sort of characters. Got a couple eyeball shots, but none in too good focus (thats me kneeling on the right, and the summit snowfield on the left). 6 hrs rt.
