dp ski 1:03:00 [3] 12.0 km (5:15 / km)

wait did somebody say we had enough snow? whatevs, cause we're getting more. Its warm this time (30), so its all coming down as concrete. They groomed a little, but even that hadn't set up yet so you just punched through to the previous fluffy stuff. Three laps of double pole around the flat loop between the lodge and the power lines. Storm #1 is just about done, with 2 and 3 coming tonight and tomorrow night. According to the weather guy, #2 is "only going to be six inches, so its not worth talking about". But #3 should be good for some more feets.

Note

also this is awesome.

skate ski 2:03:00 [3] 34.0 km (3:37 / km)

two easy loops around the valley. downright warm today, it was 0+ when I got up. Snow was still squeaky in a few places, but in most I actually had glide, which was cool. I cut the sleeves off an old ratty bike jersey and used those as wrist warmers, I think it'll work pretty good. plus they're awesomely obnoxious neon green.

skate ski 53:00 [3] 14.0 km (3:47 / km)

Went out late in the afternoon hoping to get the max warmness for the day, but I think I was too late as the shady parts of the trails were already squeaky cold again. Both hands got deathly cold again, I think I need to make some wrist warmers or something to close the gap between my sleeves and the gloves. Stupid short armed jackets. Also it just needs to warm up. They don't sell green wax in california.

skate ski 1:47:00 [3] 20.0 km (5:21 / km)

Skate at TD. The storm blew through last night and then the temperature just dropped, it was -10 this morning. They had about half the trails groomed, and most of the rest just packed with the treads. Everything was super fluffy, so I was sinking in to the ankles in a lot of places. Did a loop through Euer Valley then back up over the front of the mt, but it was windy up there (and only up to about 10 degrees), so I froze pretty instantly. Still good to play on some clean snow, although its not like there's anything left of my ski bottoms after the last couple weeks.

Note

I like snow. Which is good because wow do we have a metric crapton of it.

Blue middle at Vasquez. I love this place. Had an awesome run, mostly nailed everything except one control (#9), which I blew 2+ minutes on. Didn't see a fork in the trail on either the map or in the terrain, so I ended up searching too high in an area that perfectly paralleled the area below. Finished 2nd three minutes behind James, and a couple minutes in front of Joe.

Ran into a nice blizzard on the way back up to home. Chains on for the last 80 miles, which took forever. The road wasn't too bad since it was cold and all fluff, but it was blowing everywhere so visibility was zero. Had to actually just stop in the road a few times when I couldn't even see the ground right in front of me, let alone which direction the road was going. Not so good with the dropoffs on either side. We've got about 8" at home so far, and apparently the storm hasn't even gotten here yet.
