Running (Trail) 1:04:57 [3] 8.3 mi (7:50 / mi)
slept:5.0 weight:173lbs

Ken-Gar, Rock Creek Park, MD. As often is the case we got there a bit late for the start of the MCRRC Saturday morning run. I knew they weren't far ahead so I chased (7 Mile mark to Spring Rd. and back), trying to shake-off some sleepiness the first few miles. Expecting colder conditions from weather service warnings of 30's F feeling like 20 F with the wind, I wore too much--it was 36 F but there was hardly any wind. I finally caught them just before the 3 miles in. I ran most of the next 4 with Rosanne, Leo and one other woman, answering their questions about the adoption, then finished quicker. Splits: 7:03, 7:01, 7:05, 8:09, 9:01, 9:10, 8:31, 6:38. I didn't feel as good as last night.

Running (Street & Trail) 35:59 [4] 5.25 mi (6:51 / mi)
slept:7.5 weight:172lbs

From Rosedale Ave., Maryland Ave. to Rockville Pike, to Cedar Ln. to the Elmhirst Trail, to the Rock Creek Trail, to Kensington Pkwy. to Connecticutt Ave. to the Georgetown Branch Trail, to Kentbury Rd. to Rosedale Ave. It was a nice but breezy night in the process of turning colder. I wanted to run clockwise on the loop to avoid the wind but I think I ran the open areas more directly into it. I pushed a little and it felt nice to hold a quicker pace than I've been doing. I think my oversleeping this morning helped. Half Mile Split on the trail: 3:25.

Running (Street & Trail) 13:01 [4] 2.0 mi (6:30 / mi) +25m 6:16 / mi
slept:3.25 weight:172lbs

From Rosedale Ave., the Two Mile Loop. I ran at about 11:50pm, after dinner with some friends, some preparation work at home and being distracted by the Olympics. I felt heavy and sluggish but enjoyed the 57 F breezy weather.

Running (Street & Trail) 43:37 [3] 6.03 mi (7:14 / mi)
slept:5.5 weight:174lbs

From Rosedale Ave. to Old Georgetown Rd. to Huntington Pkwy. to Bradley Blvd. to Woodhaven Blvd. to Whittier Blvd. to Goodhaven St. to Plainview Rd. to Durbin Rd. to Cornish Rd. to Glenbrook Rd. to Battery La. to Rosedale Ave. A run through the neighborhoods at night. Snow still covered many walks and paths but it was 52 F when I ran. I wore too much, not knowing how warm it was at the time. Starting out, I felt a bit slow and like I hadn't run for a long time.

Running (Street & Trail) 1:07:42 [2] 6.75 mi (10:02 / mi)
slept:6.5

Latin Quarter, Paris, France. From Rue. Saint Severin, St. Michel Blvd. to Que de Grands Agustine, down the left bank of the Seine river to Pont de'lena under the Eiffel Tower then back to the Seine, across the Passerelle Debilly to the right bank, up to Rue d'Arcole through Sq. R. Viviani to Rue. Saint Severin. Our ticket back home from Russia called for a 17hour layover in Paris which we extended to 23 hours to make it a night. We took advantage of it with more sightseeing running. In addition to the Eiffel Tower, we passed the Saint Michel fountain, Pont Neuf, Pl. de La Concorde, Ave. de Champs Elysees, the Pyrimide in the Louvre and the Cathedral of Notre Dame. It was in the 40's F overcast and rained lightly but still a nice morning run.

Other (Stairs) 8:00 [3] +90m

Notre-Dame Cathedral, Paris, France. While Peggy walked about below, I went up the winding stairs of the cathedral to see the gargoyles, the bell room and the views. Alas, the overcast misty skies obsured many things including the Eiffel Tower but at least I got to see that earlier. Time includes up and down time but excludes the obligatory stop in the souvenir room, time squeezing past people going the other direction and picture taking at the top.

Calisthenics (General) 2:00 [3]
