Note

Good news/bad news regarding NAOC/US orienteering.

Good
M21 @ NAOC is almost on par with registrations from here http://www.dvoa.org/events/results/ev_show.php?eve... (roughly 45)
400 people are pretty good.
1/3 from outside NA is cool.
F21 is almost on pace with here: http://cnyo.us.orienteering.org/2001/A-meet/US2001...

Bad
M21 still well behind here: http://cnyo.us.orienteering.org/2001/A-meet/US2001...
Do we need to go offshore to get the numbers we used to get from NA 10 years ago?

Of course, I will do a more rigorous analysis of this later. Pleased with the international flavor of things, but hoping to raise the bar through the promotion of homegrown elite talent.

Note

I've seen the NAOC long in all its pre-production glory. It is impressive.

Note

Check out the latest NAOC tweet! (It is below, if you aren't a regular follower.) Very happy with this one.

Note

While doing unexpected vetting today at Myrick, I felt a momentary feeling of saturation with orienteering. I have devoted so many hours to it this year, and across recent years. But, in an Ian-esque fashion, I censured myself for my weakness, and regained my mojo. I will continue to pursue great things.

Note

The bear I saw was very large, and was galloping like a horse (in that you could feel/hear the impact of it bounding on a trajectory bisecting mine.)

Petr saw a different one. Nice.

Note

Non-stop flight and fat car booked to Boggs. Total cash outlay=$60.

Nice. Very nice.
