Morning Run (pavement and trails) 49:45 [3] 3.4 mi (14:38 / mi)

Headed out to explore the Hipp Brook Preserve. There's access behind a Frontier box on Atlantic near Jackson, and it looks reasonably sized.
Looks can be deceiving... It seems to be 85% wet wetlands. The SouthEastern corner is more dry and has a half mile trail through it.
On the other hand, I did wonderfully whacking through the swampy areas, and I'm still here. I imagine I avoid swamps in O events to my detriment, and it's good to walk through a definitive swamp and do ok.
At one point I did decide that it would be better to be knee deep in the muck on a deer path than in some random spot - the deer keep coming back. (and it's not like you inform you spouse "hey, I'm planning to run through a swamp for the next hour, if something happens and I don't come back, you'll know where to look for me"-)
Glad I did this past-freeze - that would not be fun in full greenery.
Found the 1000 acre brook and followed it for a bit - that looks like a nice waterway. About 20' wide at that point, probably 3-5' deep.
Must have looked like a swamp thing on the run back home. Glad today was the day to take off the hose from the spigot outside - still there to use.
Not sure I'll go back, but it was a fun exploration.
