O race (Forest) 1:24:58 [3]

BAOC - Long Valley North - Brown

Running speed was steady again, but not too fast.

Started quite well up to #5.
Lost time #6 through to #9. It crossed vague terrain and I was trying to check off features (gullies, patches of green, small hills). I would have been much better taking a good bearing and pace counting. Probably lost 3mins through this section.

Lost a minute at #12 as I stopped too early. A small unmarked gully wasn't the large stream I was looking for.

I thought I was below #25, but I was just above it and there was a watery pit north of where I was, so I ran to that before running back. Lost 60s. Needed a better bearing.

O race (Forest) 1:28 [3]

BAOC Hankley Common - Brown

Got the train to Farnham for this one. After running last night and planning to run tomorrow, still wanted to be able to run round. Not just stagger round.

Running speed was steady.

As I crossed the last paths on the way to #5, I lost map contact. Lost about 4mins relocating, but I don't understand why it went wrong. The map suddenly stopped matching was on the ground. Hope RG goes up, so I can see what I did wrong.

Drifted too far north to #15, but read the terrain well to realise what I'd done. About 2mins.

O race (Street-O) 1:06:04 [3]

Was running ok. Not super fast, but ok. Executing reasonably well and enjoying trickier that usual navigating for a street-o.

I inexplicably switched off at about 50mins. Didn't plan my route back, but carried on control picking. Checked again at 58mins and still a long way from the finish. Ran back as fast as I could, but left a lot of points that would have helped keep my score high. Still well over time.

Was good fun, but this should have been a good run as well.
