IRVOC 6 hour rogaine at Black Partridge. What a day! Woke up to a flat tire and arrived an hour after the start, so by the time I started, I had just over 4:45. Still had hopes of clearing the course and was pretty much on target until the side of one of my shoes blew out. Managed to keep going a bit further out for a few more controls, but decided to cut short, having no desire to finish the course barefoot. Re-tied the shoe laces around the shoe and found a couple strips of caution tape which I wrapped around - that was plenty to get me back with the shoe still on my foot, but not enough to allow much running, especially on the steep side-hills. Still got 36 of 45 controls.
