Running 2:20:05 [3] 25.0 km (5:36 / km)
shoes: Nike Pegasus 30

Avian - ridge above Stokes Valley - loop along the ridge and then down on the East side and up the long climb through the forestry - back via Johnson's Road.

Wet wet wet. Had intended to do another long bike ride but couldn't face it. Everywhere fairly saturated and rained the whole time I was out. Smaller tracks very slow and slippery and even the ridge track was a bit slow in places. Set off at a very steady pace and as a result barely noticed the distance - able to go reasonably strongly towards the end.

Time to start introducing a bit of speedwork to get into shape for Australian Champs (& British Middle / Sprint).

Note

Golf at Manor Park with Al and Geoff. 104. The Good, the bad and the ugly. Striking the ball quite well, but plenty of arboreal adventuring. Everywhere very wet at the moment.

Running 1:07:24 [3] 13.0 km (5:11 / km)
shoes: Nike Pegasus 29

Avro - part way down the spur and on the tracks I don't often go along. Discovered that it's still possible to do a reasonable loop plus did a bit of exploring of dead ends - Avian

Overall maybe a bit more tired than I'd expected, but the initial hill disappeared without me noticing it, so obviously in reasonable shape.

Running 1:21:15 [3] 13.0 km (6:15 / km)
shoes: VJ studs

From Kaitangata Crescent to Boulder Hill, round the loop ACW, back down the same way.

Grim. About 4 degrees Celsius, with heavyish almost-hail/snow showers in strongish winds. Really painful on top of the hill getting hit by the rain. Very wet underfoot with cow damage most of the way. Also getting fairly dark by the time I got back so had to slow up a bit. O-shoes the right choice, but a but dicey on some of the Wellington mud/rock.

Physically pretty good. Sort of relishing the battle. Fairly tired afterwards.

Sierra-Avro-Sierra-Avro

Legs fairly tired so took a while to get into it, but going OK to the end.

Running 54:59 [3] 11.0 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: Nike Pegasus 30

Cannon Point from Totara Park. Climbed up the long way, and had to add a quick sojourn to Harcourt Park at the end to find a toilet. In which I was almost locked as it was just getting dark.

Felt pretty good apart from the gut problems, though left hip a bit sore, probably from the golf yesterday.
