Mountain biking (Snow ride ICCP) 1:10:58 [3] 6.0 mi (5.1 mph) +348ft
shoes: Trek MTB

Our pathetic pace is made even more pathetic when you know that our elapsed time was an hour more, but my SIL was out for her very first snow ride ever and her first MTB ride in about 2 years. She did great.

I had a blast. Felt great on the bike, and riding in the snow is a good reminder of how important it is to look where you want to go and a good teacher about when you should have shifted into a lower gear to avoid spinning out on a snowy uphill.

Trails were pretty well packed down, quite a bit of ice under snow, and lots of places that had been run on and then refrozen, leaving a very bumpy ride. Back keeps slowly feeling better, but I definitely felt it on the rough sections.

Elliptical warm up/down 15:00 [3] 1.38 mi (10:52 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline

Strength (NROLFW3B3) 35:00 [3]

...weights making their first appearance in my training log in 2 weeks...

A Barbell Romanian DL/bent row
80/6
90/6 bad idea to jump up 10 lbs after a 2 week layoff. Pretty painful twinge in lower back halfway through set. Considered dropping back to 80 for final set but sore back convinced me 2 sets was plenty.

B1 Partial single leg squat 3x6 BW.
B2 wide grip lat pulldown
105/6 x 3

C1 Back extension
65 x 3
C2 YTWL 5lb hand weights/6 x 3

D1 Swiss ball crunch 12x3
D2 Prone jackknife 12x3
D3 Lateral flexion12x2

Running (Treadmill intervals) 15:00 [3] 1.3 mi (11:32 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Adrenaline

2 min easy/1 min hard x 5 Slower easy, kept hard intervals in the 8's. Even though I ate too late for running to feel good, it felt pretty good and went by fairly quickly. Maybe seeing some benefit from those trail runs.

Trail running (Big Woods) 1:07:39 [3] 5.2 mi (13:01 / mi) +588ft 11:45 / mi
shoes: Brooks Cascadia

Snow run with Patrick. So much better with company. Relatively warm 23* felt much colder with the wind, which seemed to be everywhere despite being on the sheltered trails.
