Rode to Mawson coffee shop via Coolaman Ridge on a windy cold morning. Nice to do some exercise after touristing with visitors over the past few days.

Joined in with Wayne Gregson on his Stromlo run today. His run starts at the top which means a serious uphill finish. Some of the single tracks were the ones I run with Liz but in reverse direction. Nice run with a light shower of rain to keep us cool. Bit of walking on the last uphill pinch tho.

NSW Middle Distance Championships on the Connorton map near Wagga Wagga. Map had lots and lots of granite boulders/cliffs/rock slabs interspersed over an area with young pines and eucalyptus trees. Very technical course set with an advertised distance of 3.9 km and 165 metres of climb. Only really lost time on control 8 along with a lot of others. About 4 minutes lost as we seemed to have coagulated in a gully next to the one we should have been in - with so many in the one area wondering it is a sure sign that we were all misplaced. But others in my class lost time here or elsewhere so after a hard sprint to the finish line I managed 1st by about 20 seconds.

Used gaiters for the first time for a while after Liz kept suggesting it was a good idea as we are approaching the time that snakes re-emerge - somewhat ironically I nearly stepped on one leaving control 12. The good time I did on that leg might reflect the impact of the adrenaline hitting the system.

Great weather for the event and a really great area. Liz also collected another mug for her 1st prize in her class.
