Orienteering - Sprint 40:00 [4] 6.0 km (6:40 / km)

4x KO sprint intervals with Järla. Ended up being 2nd, 2nd, 1st, last.

2nd in the first due to almost everyone except me skipping a control. A quite straightforward second interval and just trying to hold onto Isac. Then a mistake free third where I could be alone in the lead for the last few controls. Finally, some confusion with artificial fences led to a few minutes in time lost on the last.

A bit scrappy orienteering on the first, but afterwards quite good. Main issue is I don't see artificial fences when I pick routes. I only notice them on the map once I start to execute my route. With that in mind my focus for the first Stockholm sprint cup is to be at the call-up 5 mins before my start, and to see the full leg before running.

Tiomila the unforced leg #8. Not amazing, but a solid team performance to finish 28th. Some strong runs in the night and Lucas held off the teams chasing us down on the last leg.

Very disappointed with my individual performance. +9:04 on Lucas Basset's leg time. I'm actually quite happy with the run up until 11, just very stupid decision making at 12 ruined it.

Livelox

1. Went out alone. Clean orienteering and did a good job of calming down from the hectic start.
2. Solid enough orienteering. I think this leg is a case of me not having a good concrete plan to execute when I leave the control. Improving my night-o routine I should be able to take 30s off a leg like this.
3. Good, safe plan to execute. Probably a little faster to run above the cliff, but no major mistakes.
4. Good leg. Left or Right route choice around the hill.
5. Clean leg. You could run around on the road or go straight. Ended up running straight as I felt the entry to the control was actually easier this way. Caught Bredaryd and Snättringe on this leg.
6. Tricky leg. Went too far to the right and ended up having to find a way down the cliffs. I lost about 30s here, but I can't judge it too harshly when looking at the leg now, I'm still not sure what the best way to execute the leg is.
7. Good leg. Just using the very distinct hills.
8. Around a 75s mistake on this leg. The plan was to run a little more distance and then have the cliff to help guide me into the control. When I was suppose to run up the hill side, the terrain felt weird and there were some semi cliffs around me. I second guessed myself and just kept running along the hillside. Took 15-20s for me to realise I was dumb and that I had even seen the bend in the road. Again, I think I just need to always have a concrete plan of what I'm looking for in the night. Then stick to it and just have confidence in my orienteering. Pan Kristianstad and Göteborg Majorna had also made a mistake here so our trains merged here.
9. Quite clean. I ran around while OK Pan went straight which was a little faster.
10. Initially, I had the group ahead of me to follow here. Hesitation in the circle when the rock wasn't where I thought it would be.
11. I think it was Ok Pan leading the train here. I probably would have gone straight after the road, but Ok Pan went left and decided to stick with the group. A little slower entry into the control went I ran around the hill, along the cliff while the others went over.
12. I decided to cut the corner of the road. It would have been slower even if I executed well, and I made a mess of it lost about 90s on the group. Then a small parallel mistake in the end of leg cost me another 30s. Just very unnecessary to ditch the group and take more risky routes when the fastest split was run on a path 95% of the time.
13. Not orienteering well, lost 30s on poor micro route choices in the terrain.

Ended up changing over 2:55 behind Majorna, so 3 free minutes and a group to send out Linus with given up at the end.
