Note the discussions down here about the course standards offered at the You Yangs Sunday Special event. Some sentiment that not setting hard courses was a waste of the venue. One control station was relocated by non-orienteers but the map is a pretty high standard and the controls were otherwise where they were meant to be.
The ACT Community events seem to be much the same range of standards - to orange. One big difference - mid-week event. Presume ACT accommodates the needs of experienced orienteers with other events. For your $7 junior entry fee I presume you get a colour map.
For your 7 dollars you get a colour map of mediocre terrain. But it is close to town. Just not up to Bendigo standard.
I agree. I've got to hand it to Jymbo - The Bendigo Skins sprints the other weekend was a top event. Just a pity the Bendigo boys who filled out the final didn't have any imported competition. They were too good for the rest of us in the lower league.
