Discussion: Mispunch

I don't see that you mispunched, especially on the second loop, where there was no 104 on the loop.

First loop had 104, which was forked, so it didn't matter which one you got.

Third loop required a sequence of 140, 104 (coded as 145 in the computer), 121, 104 (coded as 104 in the computer).

You went to 140, 104 (the incorrect one), then 104 (the correct one coded as 145), 121, and 104 (the one coded as 104).

So, in simpler terms - you went 1, 4, 2, 3, 4.

I confirmed what Valerie said. It was confusing but you did the controls in order with an extra one.

Chalk that one up to the beer - on the first loop, I punched the northern 104 thinking at the time that it was the southern one. On the second loop, I saw it again and it significantly bolixed up my navigation to the next control, though I did eventually get to the end of the marsh and punch it. By the third loop, all that was a hazy memory and I no longer had my second loop map to consult, so when I twigged to which 104 I'd seen up until then, I knew I'd done something stupid before but the details were a bit hazy. Glad to have a legitimate, if only so-so, result.
