Nice to see you fitting in some alternate training. You may already be doing this but you want to make sure that you are pedaling with a high cadence when you are riding the bike. It doesn't matter what intensity you are doing, your cadence should be high (85-90 revolutions/min). Avoid grinding a hard gear at low cadence as this will be hard on your knees and potentially your ankle, too.
