Chasing white water at the moment must be like going Street-O as a substitute for orienteering. I assume it wasn't your boat. I wouldn't let mine anywhere near the water at the moment!

nuh it's one of the old boats from work. there's still enough water to get by, but it's only white because its so shallow.

Actually, I think I almost died on that stretch of river 30 years ago. It was running pretty well. Some bastard had felled a tree across the river to get across to Warburton. A little of the river flowed over the tree, but most flowed under. I got caught in the underflow. There wasn't enough clearance to take me and the kayak. I got wedged for a while until I found a way to wriggle out. The adenaline was really pumping. Never went back there. Stuck to the Yarra View run, especially in high water when there were 1 and 2 metre pressure waves! Hasn't been like that in along while. Actually, that was pretty stupid too. There were many willows in those days.
