I read in ONA about the NAOF travel guide brochure that one can purchase to support the juniors, but could not find the purported link to it off the USOF website. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks!

ONA:
It used to be in the News section but dropped off. Go to the USOF site, click on ONA, scroll down and you'll find it.

And while you're ordering the Guide, consider making an additional donation to the Juniors. It's the second option (Travel Guide and Additional Donation to the Junior Teams). The proceeds will be split between the Canadian and US juniors.

The guide will be ready in early June. I've already finished with most of the US portion of the trip. There are just so many interesting things to do along the way between events and in the towns near the events, you won't be bored, believe me.

But, you won't know about them if you don't order the Guide... Sure, you can look at somebody else's Guide, but that won't be helping the juniors, now will it?

Sounds great, thanks Donna. Maybe the link to the guide should be made more apparent on the USOF website though?

Done. Requests to add / change / update information on the website can always be directed to the webmaster. :-)

Especially desired are news items of interest to the organization's members. Something sent directly is more likely to get attention (often the same day; sometimes almost immediately) than the webmaster having to distill information from hundreds of posts on AP or USOFClubnet. The Webmaster address is at the bottom of the Home page, and also listed on the Who We Are page, just in case you need it.

Since the Travel Guide will be e-mailed, and I might want to print some (or all) of it, how many pages will it be?

ONA:
Info is still coming in from locals. I'm up to 6 pages now and I'm only in Spokane!

You can also link to the guide from the NAOC2010 website. I'm looking forward to my copy. From the preview, I've already learned about a new rails to trails ride I can take west of Spokane.

ONA:
If you have a favorite restaurant in the towns we'll be visiting for the events or along the routes, send me an e-mail. Also, I'm looking for "off the beaten path" things to do.

This is a great fundraiser for the Juniors of the US and Canada. So, help make it better, buy one now, and tell all your non-AP friends about it.

www.us.orienteering.org, click on ONA and scroll down to Travel Guide.

On a related note. How might we obtain other o-maps within a few hours of Spokane? A few of us would like to do some training out there in addition to the convention activities, etc.

I will second expresso's request.

Selling a pack of training maps could also be a fund-raising opportunity.
Anyway, if nothing formal comes of this, could someone please direct me the the EWOC (or COC) person who could assist with getting some extra maps? Feel free to email me if that is preferable. Thanks.

If you send us a note at info@naoc2010.com I can probably send this off to someone who might be able to help..There are also a couple of extra maps available in the Cranbrook area that could be made available for training runs.

We've now had a couple of requests for training maps so what I'll do is e-mail a free O cad file of the two Cranbrook training areas to anyone who purchases a travel guide or makes a donation to the junior fundraising, through ONA. You just need to send me an email at info@naoc.com requesting the maps. For the area between Seattle and Spokane you can contact Eric b. The NAOC Street O, June 30th, will also be a junior fundraiser.

I just received my copy of the NAOF travel guides. Donna has done an awesome job of putting these together. Well worth the $5 contribution to the juniors.

I especially like the locals tips on places to eat and things to see.
