Is that a park or are you really running in the woods(terrain) running?
Your foot injury sounds similar to mine. Hope your Dr. is friendlier with you than mine was. i.e. allows you to keep running. ;-)

the "bois" is the Bois de Boulogne and is the huge park just on the edge of the main part of Paris. It is a mostly forest, although the forest is too thick to be much use for terrain training, so I just stick to the tracks. I can do up to 20km around the Bois without crossing the same path twice - not that I have run that far for a long time!

had an xray yesterday and no stress fracture. But calcification around and in the joint of my little toe. The soreness is way out of proportion to the size of the toe! Not sure what the cure is and will see doc again tomorrow. I tend to ignore the doctors' advice on most occasions.

That sure is bad luck. Has your foot hurt for a long time? I'd think that'd be something that developed over a period of time. On the other hand, it sounds a bit like gout, but not in a traditional location (though I've had it there before too). My attacks usually occur while I'm asleep...sneaky bastards...
Gout is crystallized uric acid forming in the joint and is extremely painful too. Good luck!
