OK. I thought that was only blue-sky stuff, didn't realize you were going forward with a one-day A-meet that also offered a goat.
Sounds like a fun weekend...for people not too interested in ranking points. Which certainly includes me, and most others in Chicago. But I don't know about people coming from further away.
Clark, note: With both Hawn and sprint A-sanctioned (presumably), people will be able to get in 2 A events. Then enjoy themselves on the Goat on Sunday.
I don' t know about that. Didn't your last two A-meets attract well over 200 competitors? SLOC maps, and particularly Hawn, are legendary throughout the orienteering community. It seems to me that when SLOC offers an A-meet, your attendance rivals the Pig...which is 350 miles closer to the O-zone.
Not quite that much. The Al Smith meet got around 220, but I think a lot of that was paying tribute to Al. Intercollegiates got 170 and Team Trials (which used our 2 best maps) got 150. As this is not a championship event, I'm not expecting much over 100. Of course I'd be delighted to have more.
