...has happened in Adelaide once, but it was a long time ago so I doubt if anyone remembers (February 1925). Almost all fell in a couple of hours in what must have been quite a thunderstorm (not surprisingly, it got pretty extensive news coverage).

I've experienced a 350mm day on the Gold Coast once, but was out of town when Melbourne set its record of 113.4 in February 2005.

I’m really not looking forward to not being able to read my map! I’m struggling to do that in clear weather now!
Might not see you until Sundays event, as I’ll either be in running or hiding in the car tomorrow!!

Well, we're meant to get to the nursing home in Penrith for 3pm visiting, so I will have to rush off - a bit annoyed about the start list being all over the place instead of age classes being grouped together.

I see now that they are advising people in Sydney not to travel around tomorrow, so I do wonder if the event will actually go ahead. Likewise I will be completely unsurprised if our flight is cancelled...

I also wonder if the event will go ahead if the rain is at the upper end of expectations. A lot depends on whether a low forms on the trough (in which case there could be extreme rainfalls on its south side) and if so, what it does.
