I was out in Harriman today. Snowshoes were appropriate with about 13 inches of wet snow everywhere except for sunny southern slopes. There will be some melt from the steady light to moderate rain we had all day but expect to be running in around 8 inches of wet snow most of the time.

So how was the snow? We still had up to 4" in parts of the course down-south in DVOA-land...

Well, it was definitely more than 4 inches... everywhere.

I am really impressed with anyone who ran 11.75K (or even 6.2K) in 8" of wet snow!

I did the score. Did about 7K in 100 minutes of which, 2K were on the road. Basically, all you could do was try to walk quickly. The rain on Saturday did not really put a dent in the snow. It just made the snow wet and heavy. We were dealing with 13 inches average and in plenty of spots the snow was probably more than 18 inches deep.
