Running 32:22 [3] 3.5 mi (9:15 / mi)

Running with Presto! Just a nice, quick run up the hill with Presto. It was thinking about raining, but not actually raining and Presto was happy to be out and about.

Running 40:39 [3] 4.4 mi (9:14 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Running 20

Running with Presto sort of during lab! I managed to sort of escape lab just barely before 7 (6:53 is still before 7...), but needed to come back around 7:45 to move some tubes from the thermal cycler to the freezer. I'm not really sure how this day counts for my goal of escaping lab before 7pm.

I biked home, where I discovered that I left Presto slightly too long. Sigh. Although, we have managed to force Presto to pee in the box full of grass that we put in his outhouse, he only does it under extreme duress, (i.e., when we pull him into the box after he's already started doing his business outside of the box). This has not translated in his mind into an option for peeing when we are gone too long. Anyway, luckily it was a single puddle on the wood part of the floor, so cleaning it up only took about 10 minutes.

I finally got out for a run around 7:30, at which point I was surprisingly tired. I decided to run partway up the hill, and then head all the way down to lab, move my tubes, and then head home. This worked pretty well. I was more tired than earlier in the week, but still felt generally ok. We got down to lab around 30 minutes into the run, at which point my legs were like, "yes! that's our normal length run for a weeknight! we're done!" I spent a bit longer than expected in the building, though, because a postdoc that hadn't met Presto before required substantial Presto-time before we could leave. He was wearing a jacket, and, thus, very insistent that she scratch his butt, which seemed a bit forward for their first meeting :-).

I told myself I didn't have to run the entire way up the hill to get home, but it was kind of cold, and once I was running, it was actually fine.

Running 27:59 [3] 3.1 mi (9:02 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Running 20

Running with Presto after lab! I felt quite good tonight, so I pushed it on the uphill a bit. Presto was also super spritely tonight, probably because it was surprisingly cold tonight. (It snowed on Mt. Diablo last night!!!)

Strength 15:00 [3]

A more strength-focused pilates video with Sam today. It's a little crowded in the living room with both of us doing things :-).

Stretching 10:00 [3]

Running 55:56 [3] 6.0 mi (9:19 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Running 20

Running with Sam and Presto at Redwood Regional Park in the rain! This was kind of chilly, but super awesome. The forest was full of misty fog and rain and tall trees and the mud wasn't *too* deep. Presto was kind of confused about why we would run in these conditions, but seemed to have a good time anyway.

My knee was totally fine today. Actually, my legs felt great today, which was a nice change. Sam was taking it pretty easy today because his knee has been bothering him recently, so I was doing a bit of running ahead and waiting and bouncing back and forth and stuff. Fun, fun!

Strength 24:00 [3]

Sam was saying that he should stretch more, so we did the Irish video again today. I thought it was great. Sam complained that it assumed a ratio of upper to lower body mass that was kind of low for most guys. I guess that's something I don't have to worry about...

Then I added 9 minutes of glute exercises as the end.

Stretching 20:00 [3]

15 minutes of the stretching part of the pilates video and then some more stretching to hit things like the piriformis and calves that weren't focused on in the video.
