Running 31:53 [3] 3.5 mi (9:07 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Running 11

Running with Brendan and Presto before lab! Woohoo! It was nice and cool and there was even precipitation-ish stuff (or at least the clouds were condensing on us...). It was great to get a chance to catch up with Brendan a bit on his short trip out west!

Stretching 3:00 [3]

Token stretching before having yummy crepes (and ice cream) for breakfast!

Running 50:49 [3] 5.5 mi (9:14 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Running 11

Running with Jason, Christy, and Presto before lab! Presto was super excited to have more people out on our morning run and looked all pleased with himself. I thought my legs would be tired, but they were surprisingly fine, which was nice. My stomach started really bothering me the last mile and a half or so, but otherwise the run was quite fun!

Orienteering 55:28 [3] *** 6.5 mi (8:32 / mi)
30c shoes: Brooks Running 11

BAOC training with Sam, Nadja, and Presto! I was running a bit late, so I had to book it up my hill on my bike and then fly down the hill, so I was well warmed up before starting the orienteering. We ran the O-tervals as a group, meeting up every 5 controls. Presto was super excited and was definitely helping/hindering depending on whether people were in front or behind me :-). Apparently a grad student from my lab saw us and afterwards told me that I was pretty fast for a girl out jogging. I'm not sure if that's a compliment or not...

Stretching 5:00 [3]

Normal stretching and nerve glides.

Orienteering 49:27 [3] *** 3.9 mi (12:41 / mi) +150m 11:20 / mi
8c shoes: Saucony Trail

Brown course at Burton Creek! This was WAYYYY better than yesterday, although Presto's feet were all cut up from the pointy Tahoe vegetation, so he was seriously slowing me down today. I think I easily could have been 10 minutes faster on my own. Oh well. It was quite fun anyway.

ARDF (80m) 54:00 [3] *** 5.0 km (10:48 / km)
5c shoes: Saucony Trail

80m ARDF at Burton Creek! Sam set transmitters for me after the orienteering, and I headed out to find them. Except for one control, this felt awesome. I was locating the controls well and even found 4 and 5 off-cycle after a fairly significant amount of compass bearing. The only problem was number 3, which was just inside this extremely thick swath. Sadly I didn't see it when I was on the correct side of the swath and ended up going to the other side of the swath and then having to come back to the first side of the swath. I lost 10 minutes here. I just have to be less unobservant in Kazakhstan!

Orienteering 22:23 [3] *** 3.0 km (7:28 / km)
2c shoes: Saucony Trail

Picking up 2 of the transmitters.
