Strength training (Core) 5:00 [1]
My back has improved dramatically over the past three weeks - for instance, walking is no longer prohibitive, and I can tie my shoes without difficulty. That said, I think there are some minor secondary issues which have emerged. My inability to flex my back meant that I was awkwardly squatting every time I needed to pick something up, and the fact that my back injury was slightly asymmetric (right back injury, apparently making touching my left ankle harder than touching my right ankle) led to some bias among my leg and core muscles I used to squat. At present, something in my left upper thigh is a bit tight, though not painful. Flying back to Toronto on Friday was fine compared to the great discomfort from flying to Texas two weeks ago.
Anyway, I did a very light core workout - 10 each of tuckups, kayakers, oblique crunches, and pushups and 5 leg lifts. I had full range of motion without discomfort except at the very top of my leg lift.
