Spencer Smith Park and back. I have done this 120 km ride sufficiently many times that I should probably add it as a route; it is an exceedingly pleasant ride even if it's not the most navigationally interesting. Lakeshore is a shady mix of suburbs and small Ontario towns. I thought about riding with only my 1.5 L of bottles, but I decided to err on the side of caution and practice for ultra distance by bringing an extra 2L in my backpack bladder. I didn't end up touching my bottles at all, but drank basically all my bladder. For food, I brought a 4-bar Twix, a clif bar, and a baggie full of goldfish. For the first time, I put my goldfish into my frame bag and intermittently munched on goldfish while moving. My intermittent stops were then quite brief, with two minute stops at hour 1 and 3, and a five minute break at the halfway point. I rode on my aerobars a bit, and I'm a bit disappointed at my pace. It looks like I averaged 28.7 kph for the first 70 km - including traffic lights, but then did kms 70-100 in 1:08, followed by the usual slugfest through Toronto traffic lights. Conditions were breezy with a light drizzle halfway, but certainly nothing onerous. I had some right knee pain, perhaps from a poorly adjusted seat.
