The bike part of todays bike-run-bike. Cloudy while I was biking.

A course on the KU campus that was designed to have plenty of climb. I was tired by the end. So that's good.

It was cloudy while biking before and after the orienteering. But the sun popped out for most of the orienteering. Sweaty.

running 40:00 [2]

Morning jog. Kind of warm again (dew point 65).

I spotted the St Louis to Denver flight. But it was not in the usual spot in the sky. It occurred to me that they might be flying a different route to avoid the thunderstorms in the middle of Kansas. When I got home I double checked the flight route and the weather radar. I was right. The route was avoiding storms.

We had a good visit from Eric and Kate last night. They headed off to Colorado this morning.

The highlight of the day? White bean and spinach quesadillas for lunch (inspired by Anna).

Note

Woke up at 540 to get ready to go for a run. But Lawrence was the center of a thunderstorm. I don't run in the lightning. I went back to sleep. Afterwork? Nah, we've got a couple of house guests arriving any minute.

running 40:00 [2]

Morning jog. First time for the year that it felt like a warm morning. It will get worse.

I got up to the powerline cut. Evergy cleared a bunch of the vegetation growing under the powerlines.

No workers were out on the big construction area today.

I shuffled around and found some control locations at Bonner Park. It has been years since I last ran there. It's not challenging, but it is a fun place to run. It might be worth updating the map. The version we had was done by Kevin S. and Dan W. and based on old USGS contours.

We stopped at the park on our way home after dropping Mom and Ron off at the airport.

On the roads on the commuter bike.

Checking out control locations for this week's picnic. I also added a few features. I've started adding fire hydrants to the map. I wouldn't normally map fire hydrants, but given the nature of the Water Tower Park map it seems reasonable.

Comfortable conditions but my legs felt dead.
