Orienteering 36:42 [3] 2.56 km (14:20 / km)

CSU spring training at the Fells. This course was a control pick and all the trails had been removed from the map. I got really confused on my way to 2 and got kinda annoyed so I walked about half the course after that...

Orienteering 22:47 [3] 2.32 km (9:49 / km)

Simplification training at the same event. This one was a lot better and I did fine!

Orienteering 1:24:23 [3] 6.95 km (12:08 / km)
ahr:140

Hmm this was interesting. Corridor designed by Keegan. There was a lot of greenbriar. And I don't really know what happened on the leg 11-12...

Running 21:08 [3] 3.9 km (5:25 / km)
ahr:150 shoes: Adidas Ultraboost 4.0

For some weird reason the coaches decided that we're gonna run inside... So I ran on a treadmill

Gym 10:16 [3]

The school's gym doesn't have enough treadmills so we had to change the machines couple of times. This was elliptical

Gym 9:15 [3]
ahr:120

This was biking at the gym

Running 5:01 [3] 0.93 km (5:24 / km)

In the end I got to run on the treadmill again but then my stomach started feeling bad so I stopped pretty quickly

Running 53:09 [3] 10.16 km (5:14 / km)
ahr:155 shoes: Adidas Ultraboost 4.0

Good run

Running 51:26 [3] 10.02 km (5:08 / km)
ahr:153 shoes: Adidas Ultraboost 4.0

Running felt reaaaally good! I ran alone because the team was doing a workout but my knee still needs those easy miles.

Orienteering race 31:29 [4] 5.49 km (5:44 / km)
ahr:163 spiked:20/20c

I loved this. The course was really good, a lot of changes of direction and you had to be awake all the time. I was feeling a lot better so I was able to run faster and do better.

Running warm up/down 10:00 [3] 1.5 km (6:40 / km)

Orienteering race 1:08:30 [4] ** 10.34 km (6:37 / km) +100m 6:19 / km
ahr:148 spiked:21/22c (sick)

Awesome race, the terrain was sooooo cool. Since I'm sick I just went out to enjoy. I was running at a very comfortable pace and did only one small mistake.

Running warm up/down 10:00 [3] 1.5 km (6:40 / km)

Orienteering race 15:17 [4] 2.69 km (5:41 / km)
ahr:176 shoes: Adidas Ultraboost 4.0

I think it was a good sprint but I felt terrible running. I was still very much sick... I was pushing a little too hard and I wasn't doing very well navigationally (I never had a route plan ready when I arrived at a control). It was still pretty fun!

Monday Mar 19, 2018 #

Note

Hmm I got sick on the weekend, I went to school on Monday but then it got worse and I skipped school Tue, Wed and Thu. We flew to California on Thu evening.

Orienteering 54:57 [3] 4.08 km (13:28 / km) +80m 12:16 / km
ahr:156 max:183

Interesting training with Keegan. We both had half of the controls on our maps, put in pairs of two controls in a row. Keegan started and found the first two controls, then I had to relocate and run to my first control and then to the second one. Then Keegan would relocate and continue the same way...

It was a fun training but running was really tough because there was about 1,5 feet of snow on the ground. This map is the master map (I navigated the legs 2-4, 6-8, 10-12, 14-16, 19-F (the control #4 was in different place on my map, that's why it looks like we didn't go there)) :

Running warm up/down 10:06 [3] 2.05 km (4:56 / km)
ahr:165 shoes: Adidas Ultraboost 4.0

Warm up to the school

Orienteering 19:23 [3] 3.58 km (5:25 / km)
ahr:169 max:178 shoes: Adidas Ultraboost 4.0

Nice sprint-corridor at Harvard's campus. The color scale on the quickroute is not very accurate bc I had to adjust the route a lot... But it was fun and I was running at a pretty comfortable pace. The goal was to be about 50m ahead on the map all the time and always know what to expect after every turn!

Orienteering warm up/down 10:17 [3] 2.11 km (4:52 / km)
ahr:169 shoes: Adidas Ultraboost 4.0

A little harder cool down back home from the school.

Monday Mar 12, 2018 #

Running warm up/down 11:37 [3] 2.0 km (5:49 / km)
ahr:136

Warm up before training

Orienteering 39:00 [3] 7.0 km (5:34 / km)
ahr:147 shoes: Adidas Ultraboost 4.0

I really nice street-corridor around Cambridge. I was the first one running and I set up some stremers. Running felt great

Running 6:17 [3] 1.12 km (5:37 / km)
ahr:152 shoes: Adidas Ultraboost 4.0

Had to do a short cool down to get 10km for the day ;)

Sunday Mar 11, 2018 #

Orienteering 29:46 [3] 3.93 km (7:34 / km)

Fun training at Franklin Park with Tyra and Bridge. I guess I didn't eat enough breakfast bc I felt really tired and couldn't run fast at all :(

Saturday Mar 10, 2018 #

Orienteering 43:31 [3] 4.79 km (9:05 / km)
ahr:164

Great hillside training at Blue Hills. I was surprised how well I managed to find the controls 37, 39, 41 and 42 and it made me happy!

Friday Mar 9, 2018 #

Orienteering 52:23 [3] 4.27 km (12:16 / km)

Relocation training with Alex and Keegan. Had a lot of fun, we didn't take this training super seriously. (the time includes all the stops/relocations so the actual running time was much less)

Wednesday Mar 7, 2018 #

Note

Ok so my knee didn't feel very good on the long run on Tuesday so I took Wednesday and Thursday off. Now feeling a lot better.

Tuesday Mar 6, 2018 #

Running long 1:10:32 [3] 12.91 km (5:28 / km)
ahr:152 shoes: Adidas Ultraboost 4.0

I ran to Boston College and back. I started feeling discomfort in my knee after maybe first 4km but kept going and it got a little better during the run. Gonna take the next couple of days easier.

Monday Mar 5, 2018 #

Running warm up/down 17:38 [3] 3.53 km (5:00 / km)
ahr:149 shoes: Adidas Ultraboost 4.0

A nice longer warm up to MIT on the other side of the river. Running felt amazing and the weather was super nice!

Orienteering intervals 12:16 [4] 1.51 km (8:07 / km)
shoes: Adidas Ultraboost 4.0

We started doing sprint intervals and I ran the first three ones and I started feeling discomfort in my knee and had to stop. I walked the rest and collected the controls. I was really sad since my knee had been feeling a lot better

Running warm up/down 9:33 [3] 1.78 km (5:22 / km)
shoes: Adidas Ultraboost 4.0

Running back home from MIT. Knee felt a little better.

Sunday Mar 4, 2018 #

Running warm up/down 11:12 [3] 1.87 km (5:59 / km)

Warm up before training

Orienteering 11:01 [3] 1.76 km (6:16 / km)

Really quick, fun team orienteering training at Menotomy Rock in Arlington.

Saturday Mar 3, 2018 #

Orienteering 1:33:38 [2] 4.31 km (21:43 / km) +210m 17:28 / km

Compass training with some of the CRLS orienteering team people. Pretty hard course, set by Keegan, a lot of climb. I walked with Vince the first couple of legs and then he ran away and I kept walking/jogging. I was able to find all the controls but it took a while.

Thursday Mar 1, 2018 #

ahr:147 shoes: Adidas Ultraboost 4.0
