Morning Run 1:28:28 [4] 6.7 mi (13:12 / mi)
shoes: Asics GT2000 Trail #1

Perhaps a final native around-the-creek - leaving this house in 2 weeks.

6:34 .65 mi to the trailhead
29:01 2.0 mi along the creek to Empire and .6 mi to Wetlands
28:18 2.2 mi along the wetlands to old Browncroft.
24:35 1.2 mi browncroft / landing and walking up the hill home

Ran the whole way except two short / steep sections that you really can't run anyway. If the last time was faster than earlier in the season, this was faster still. 4 minutes faster on the first half (partly because I did not walk empire), and more than a minute on the second.

Orienteering race 2:01:31 [5] 8.0 km (15:11 / km) +290m 12:52 / km
shoes: Icebug Spirit 4

WDOC Elite Women / M45+ Long at Letchworth. Just under my goal of 2x the Elites;-)

A bit long for my current fitness I think.

[more later I hope]

Orienteering race 1:07:12 [5] *** 4.6 km (14:37 / km) +185m 12:10 / km
spiked:16/20c shoes: Icebug Spirit 4

WDOC Elite Middle at Mendon. Rather rough up the hills at times, I can understand why competitors collapsed at end. My time was just over double the winners;-(

Errors on four legs: 4 - missed the re-entrant up on the hill; 9 - wasn't patient and didn't see control behind boulder (thought it was in the re-entrant); 14 - left control on trail 90 degrees off, missed double hills on top of larger hill; 16 - small - looked in wrong re-entrant at end of leg.

Lots of good legs. Kept pace with an elite guy re-running the course for one leg;-) (I'd like to think I would have gone that fast anyway - downhill)

Orienteering race 17:32 [4] 2.0 km (8:46 / km) +20m 8:21 / km
shoes: Asics GT2000 Trail #1

After the WDOC, able to run the men's elite course.

Lots of little things that took time, and lots of good efforts - I often have many more blips than this, so feeling good about it. And less than double the time of the winner;-)

The purpled zone threw me for a half a minute in missed time though. I was feeling proud that I noticed it, and was prepared to go around. Except that I realized I was half-way through it when I was there already... Barriers had been removed. So I tried to "go around anyway" and ended up going around an imaginary zone 2-3 times the size and sending me one building over... oh well.

Seemed to have tweaked my left knee slightly.

[and starting runners one at a time is so much easier;-]
