What was a very mild sore throat and sniffle only near the right tonsil has developed into a very painful sore throat and congestion on both sides, along with a few aches in my neck and back. This was already planned to be an off day, but I lay especially low and concentrated on eating, drinking, and relaxing in ways that would distract me from my symptoms (without the need for drugs that might slow my recovery.)
