Orienteering race (Snowshoe-Medium) 1:45:16 [3] 4.3 mi (24:29 / mi)
slept:8.0 weight:124lbs

Snowshoe-O at Eldora.

Things were going OK until I decided to go directly from #8 to #10. Sigh... I have DNF'd on occasion, but I haven't accidentally skipped a control since APOC 2002. When Troy mentioned last year that not having a punch card makes this kind of mistake more likely, I thought that was silly. But I'm sure a punch card would have helped me catch my error today. Of course, I still prefer e-punching, all things considered.

Shovelling snow and hacking at the 2" layer of ice underneath since I didn't shovel last time...

  • Miscellaneous stretching and warm-up stuff.

  • Lots of reps to warm up on clean and jerk movements.

  • "Grace" workout, for time: 65# clean and jerk x 30. 8:05. I was not only the slowest in the 5:30 pm class, but also the second slowest of everyone in all the classes today. :-P Women's prescribed weight was 85#.

    Strength / Stretching (CrossFit) 1:00:00 [3]
    slept:8.0

  • Warm-up:

    - jump-rope
    - dynamic stretching and range-of-motion stuff
    - pull-ups x 10 / push-ups x 10 / sit-ups x 10 / good mornings x 10 / squats x 10

  • "Angie" workout, for time:

    - kipping pull-ups x 1001 (14:56)
    - push-ups x 1002 (9:22)
    - abmat sit-ups x 100 (6:20)
    - squats x 100 (3:36)

    34:14

1The first 18 were unassisted; I used the red band on the remaining ones.
2The first 25 were legit; I did the rest on my knees.

My strength (or lack thereof) limits how much of a cardio/aerobic workout this is, so I didn't feel sick or anything afterwards. But I know I'm going to sit at my desk all day tomorrow and seize-up into a knot of painful head-to-toe soreness...
