It's been a really good winter break. Nice to hang with my folks in Bradford, and then a week away in Cornwall with Jon and Kathy and family. Euan is starting to really enjoy doing touristy type stuff and is getting much easier to just do stuff and hang around with. Highlights were climbing to the top of the dome and then ice skating at the Eden Project, watching automatons (and figuring out how they work) at the MAD Museum in Fowey, and mountain biking at Lanhydrock. It was great having a pool for the bad weather days, and both Euan and Amy got some much more confident at putting their faces in the water. They're growing up so fast!

Rob and Euan went to clean the car, so I guessed I should go out for the run my watch required. I love that it seems to have settled on a 43 minute run as my basic default session, as that was the magic time Monday runs with Cerys and CJ always used to take at Oxford.

Legs were stiff and will be happy to rest tomorrow!

The watch said 7 x 10 second sprints, so headed out round old Headington and then did some loops around Bury Knowle. Legs pretty tired and struggling to get up to the right pace, but some good anaerobic benefit regardless.

Coach Euan talked me through a Freeletics workout that included re-mastering stand ups for the first time. I'm definitely swinging limbs for more momentum than the video suggests, but I'll take it. Coach Euan is an excellent motivator. "Mummy, next up is.... Mummy, FINAL EXERCISE!!!!"

My last run in Cornwall - a 20 minutes threshold session with warm up and down. Finally found a loop that wasn't insanely steep or insanely soggy. Good to move just before dark. Thought about Ed hich kept me going up the hills.

We were planning on the easy cycling loop at Lanhydrock again, but it was still closed post storm Henk, so we ended up going to the Camel Trail in Bodmin instead, which was nice but less fun. On the way home Lanhydrock had opened again (And Jon and Kathy and co had just arrived!), so Rob dropped me off and I ran back. Glutes very sore from all the slippery muddy uphills. Nice route though! Big house, Castle.
