JD Phase 2 R workout: 10x200 with 200m jog recovery, about 2R, tried to not lollygag on the jog. broke up the monotony by doing the first five in lanes 1 through 5, then back down from 5 to 1, great way to keep track of reps, the lane numbers sort of burned into my short term memory. but had to accommodate the three other users of the track. My strategy was to go the first 100 loose and effort free, then slightly bear down on the last 100, just concentrate on leg turnover, not time. and guess what, ran about as fast as when really gritting my teeth and bearing down, much more pleasant to run relaxed and smooth. lesson learned. much less perceived effort.
thank gawd no 400s today, liking 200s a lot . . . ha. got some of those coming up next week (dread).
