Cycling 25:00 [1]

R 50:00 [4] 2.0 mi (25:00 / mi)
shoes: Hoka Clifton

quintessential spring morning, chill in the air but sunny and warm . . . just beautiful day to be on the track, which I had AAAAALL to my self. planned 10x200m R workout, but only had time for 9x200 with full 3R rest.

With the whole track to myself, I kept track of reps by starting in lane 6, then decrementing to lane one each rep, then starting rep 7 in lane 1 and counting back up, so I got to run at least once in each lane.

I definitely had the pace dialed in; the Garmin was charged so guess I had the pace dialed in, just focused on keepin it smooth and loose in the hips . . .

41, 41, 41, 41, 41, 41, 41, 41, 39

only the last rep was full out. well, I guess even big ol linebacker bodies can run a 200. :) next time, I'll try shorter rest, like a 1.5R, would not be able to go that fast. but very happy with this workout.

Cycling 5:00 [1]

bike to Moss Field

E 10:00 [2] 0.5 mi (20:00 / mi)
shoes: Hoka Clifton

warmup and drills

R 40:00 [4] 2.0 mi (20:00 / mi)
shoes: Hoka Clifton

R workout: 8x200m with full R; the Garmin lost its charge so no time but I'm guessing 45 sec per repeat; actually felt strong striding, just the belly jiggling was annoying. :)

Cycling 20:00 [1]

then biked to Metro

Note

decided to train for the Macklind Mile on June 24; counted backwards and I have time for a full JD Phase 2 and 3; figure the extra weight will not hurt me on the downhill and shoot to improve my 6:20 from last year. Billy just ran a 4:00 flat 1500m on the track so I think he might qualify for the elite wave. So if I'm gonna show up, don't want to embarrass myself. Thu, the motivation for interval work again. That's how my mind works. Save oneself from embarrassment, hey whatever it takes.
