Running 21:01 [4] 3.5 mi (6:00 / mi)

Sue Wen's run four miler. Distance was changed as a down tree on the trail made it impossible to pass, at least for runners with out jumping a bit. So we just turned around at a point and I went back later and tried to figure out the distance by pacing it and my half mile split of 2:54. It was mostly downhill, but was careful not to go to fast to early. Second women from the very beginning and stayed in that spot. one minute out of first place; this is the closet I have been to this women who always beats me at races. Everyone was congratulating me about the marathon. I had one man, Hal, try to race past me with about 200 m to go he said "sorry Pat I will have to pass you." so I sprinted by him and he could not outrun me. 25th out of 122; results are posted.

Running 28:00 [1] 3.5 mi (8:00 / mi)

Warm up and cool down for the race. Also me returning to the part of the course that was removed.

Weightlifting 1:00:00 [3]

Went back to weighlifting. Wanted to give my legs sometime to recover from the marathon. Able to lift more with my legs. Did lots of sit ups and pushups as the weight room was rather crowded.

Running 2:07:00 [1] 16.0 mi (7:56 / mi)

Ran point to point adding Hains point to make the distance longer. With the memorial day activities running around the mall was easier as a lot of the streets are blocked off. On the way into DC had to stop for about 20 mins to take care of a bike accident. When I arrived people were just standing around with no idea what to do. I called 911 as the man was bleeding a bit and it would not stop. The EMTs arrived fairly quickly so I was done. After I started to run again I was stiff for about 20 mins or so. Had to use the other metro stop as the police and fire department were praticing in the tunnels for a possible terrosist attack so the metro was blocked off. These long runs are supposed to be boring.......

Running 1:04:00 [1] 8.0 mi (8:00 / mi)

Planned to run intervals. Still tired and stiff from Sunday so just did slow mileage. Pulling out the fence on the side of our house so we can have the new one put in probably did not help much. It is an old wire fence that required lots of digging and pulling to get it out. Crunched it up and lifted it to get it out of my neighbor's yard.

Running 20:55 [5] 3.45 mi (6:04 / mi)

Road race on Hains point that was mismeasured. I knew the 5K point and this was my time at this point. The actual distance was longer luckily I know the route well. The course was approx 600 m to long. Maybe one of these times I will get to run a true 5K? My legs were feeling it by about half way I know this is leftovers of the marathon. weather was in the high70's possibly 80 with high humidity when the race started. Was in 20 th place early finished 7th out of 57.
Postscript to this race: The event organizers emailed saying yes the race was long they went back and measured it, probably by bike, to be 3.25 miles. I still think it is this distance of 3.45, but this is a guess on my part. If the race was 3.25 my pace is 6:22/mile thought I was faster then that with no mile splits can't be sure. If this is correct ran the 5K in 19:44.

Running 24:00 [1] 3.0 mi (8:00 / mi)

Spent two miles warming up and needed it. I was feeling so stiff and slow would have warmed up more; to close to start time. Did some "sprints" also. Ended up running my second fastest time ever not to far off my PR. Maybe if the weather cooprerates. Tied my fastest three times.

Orienteering 1:38:20 [1] 4.6 km (21:23 / km) +150m 18:23 / km

Great woods to O in not far from the race so I went anyways. Got to the race early; thanks Valerie for letting me go so soon. Did not need to warm up just went. Kind of strange using a compass and map. Always a bit off and for one of them way, way off losing about 20 mins. My legs towards the end of the 5K were burning this just added more acid on top. May have been a bit much trying to do both in one day; just have not Oed for a while. Met somebody at the end to compare routes with.
