Session 8 - Stage 4 Set Up - Queen's Park

Race Time: 22:59

I started out okay but really fell off after the uphill run to 8 and my bobble where I briefly was distracted by the 8 of 18 and made a banana cut from the road around the amphitheatre to 8. I was happy I held off Pia until that point as well considering she started right behind me :D
11 AM

Orienteering (Sprint Camp) 27:26 intensity: (1 @0) + (1:36 @1) + (9:19 @2) + (14:09 @3) + (2:21 @4) *** 2.94 km (9:20 / km) +91m 8:05 / km

Session 9 - Stage 5 Chase - Queen's Park

Oof I was glad to narrowly miss the chase. The mass start suited my energy levels. Bobbled 2 with everyone who had that butterfly look going too far right oh well lol hive mentality. Then I was solid after that but didn't really have enough energy to run fast enough to make it as interesting as it could have been. Legs were really tired from the weekend and snow.

I did the right thing at number 23 and stopped my race to pick up and replant the control firmly in the ice/snow from its place smushed on the ground. Happy as the chase finishers began coming through soon after I finished :D

Session 10 - Training - Byrne Creek

I quite liked this training! I think I am going to do it for a wet! I really enjoyed this quiet solo memorization exercise after a full weekend of socializing felt good to concentrate on the practice of orienteering.

After several loops I was more than ready for LUNCH to close off another wonderful Sprint Camp with a great group of people.
5 PM

Note

Helped Alison unload and put things away in the locker - great way to wrap up a good weekend! Now to rest before a more formal debrief!

Also, this was my 5th Sprint Camp. I started in 2013 - Nutty!!

Thank you to those, you know who you are, who kept me excited and grounded for this weekend. I feel wonderfully lucky to have such great friends in sport and life :D
