Cycling (Bath and back) 2:38:00 [4] 55.42 km (21.0 kph) +177m
ahr:125 (injured)

Was looking forward to, and planned to do, the Silent Valley 10k today, but whilst me and R achilles were up for it, L achilles didn't want to play ball.

So cycled to Bath and back instead.

Very hard work! Looking forward to new bike as soon as cycle-to-work window opens at work - mid Nov I think.

Running race (FoD Parkrun) 19:44 [5] 5.0 km (3:57 / km) +27m 3:51 / km
(injured)

Fun course; bit muddy

So unfit.

Started pretty fast but couldn't maintain it after 2k, passed at that point by 'just jogging round' Pete Ward. Overtaken by a few other people on corners, and definitely a disadvantage not knowing the course! Very confusing in places.

Still a bit of achilles pain but definitely much better than before, very happy with that.

Orienteering race (NGOC Parkend) 57:58 [5] 6.0 km (9:40 / km) +165m 8:30 / km
(injured)

Running pretty well but orienteering pretty poorly - RG shows I wasn't too far behind Matt and Joe up until #16 despite having gone to 2 via 17 and lost at least 2 mins; basically running about the same speed as them.

16 I was so careful about aiming off but then being slightly too high made me run right past it :(

Then 18 was a bit lazy; my attack point was going to be #3, but couldn't find this straightaway and so decided not to bother' big mistake, ended up attacking from ride but had to go S to path to make sure it was actually the mapped ride.

Think without my mistakes Joe would still have beaten me; but I'd have been up around 50 mins rather than 58

Some of it lovely and runnable which was nice - some of it definitely not! But didn't feel too out of shape through the rough stuff.

Running intervals (B+W Training) 2:06:00 [5] 14.05 km (8:58 / km) +33m 8:52 / km
(injured)

Wow - I am so out of shape. Felt like the hardest intervals in the whole world. I hope this gets easier with time!

Only did 5*1km despite the 8 on offer, and only ran between 930 and 970m on each, paces:
3:27, 3:27, 3:32, 3:35, 3:37
but felt like was going to die on all of them

Not actually too bad; thought they were worse than this at the time (don't think my 'previous lap pace' code is working that well; although it seemed pretty straightforward:

RESULT = SUUNTO_LAP_PACE_PREV;

Can't get simpler code than that...

Swimming 45:00 [3] 2.0 km (2.7 kph)
(injured)

Bradley Stoke Leisure Centre still seem reluctant to make me pay to swim.
Gave receptionist money; "Swimming please".
Receptionist looks blankly at money.
Opens till drawer; looks blankly at [presumably] more money.
Receptionist gives money back; "you have a card, so..."
I showed her no card.
I look blankly back at her.
Receptionist looks down at till.
Then more firmly (as if the CCTV might be listening); "yes I've put that through; you have a card; go on through"
I'm not an idiot; I accepted my free swimming

I can only assume change from a £20 was too complex for her to calculate
