Orienteering 2:16:45 [2] 10.45 mi (13:05 / mi)
shoes: New Balance MT 910 sz 9

Trail and some off-trail run from Ht of land of Province Road N of Bow Lake, to Evans Mt, and over to Parker Mt. Ridge. I can never find a trail that connects from Evans to the Ridge. And the Ridge is tricky for relocation: multiple side hill-tops and mostly indistinct trails.

Surprise encounter: (the only person I saw all day): a hiker showed up as I was trying to locate myself, it ended up being Tom, the colleague and (greater) neighbor forester. This required a serious conversation about trees, trails, work, and everything else. Spent about 20 minutes gabbing before parting.

I started to get hungry, and as I missed the main ridge again, I plowed my way back to Evans Mt. Then a longer loop checking of the snowmobile trails and one resident's trail maze just N of where I parked.

Georgeous area of old farm fields, rocky hill tops, and mostly open woods, except near marshes and low points. About 15 yrs ago, there was talk about organizing a Rogaine around here. But then folks got pulled into other commitments. It would be fine terrain. Many private owners in this ridge of the "Blue Hills" , but they all seem to welcome foot-traffic. And they mow their trails. In the winter trails are open to snow mobiling. The NH "corridor" trails S7 goes through here.
