Orienteering 1:36:00 [3] 11.01 km (8:43 / km)
shoes: Salomon Orienteering Shoes

Yetar Spring orienteering event. My navigation was bad all day, and I felt as though I kept wanting to leave controls in the wrong direction, kept drifting in the middle of legs and losing concentration. I had a bad mistake at number 2, when I saw some rock surfaces that were not on the map and incorrectly identified them, so I went onto the wrong hill entirely. I corrected ok and did the leg pretty fast so funnily enough it doesn't actually show up as a mistake on the splits, but I did lose about 3-4 minutes. I was pretty careful through the next few short legs and I was okay until #9-10. #10 was in a thick patch of bush at the edge of a group of rocks, and I kept skirting around the edge of the thick patch without going in because I wanted to avoid going through the thick stuff and I couldn't see anything in there. On my second attempt coming off from the track intersection nearby I bashed through all of the green and ended up hitting the control, but I must have lost 10 minutes on that fairly short leg. Going to #11 I was absolutely cooked, it took me about a minute to figure out which side of the track I should have been going on, so I decided to stay out of the bush and try to go a longer, simpler route around the tracks. This didn't work either though because I lost track of how far I had run and then misinterpreted a few unmapped tracks and ended up turning off into the bush way too early. I thought that I was going the wrong way pretty early on, but I kept going just hoping that I had gone far enough and I would hit something I could recognise. I did hit something I could recognise but it was way off where the control was. From that point on I was a little bit more focused and I hit the control ok. #12 I was still pretty unsure of myself and I ended up bailing out to the track behind the control and coming back in to avoid making another big mistake. The last couple of controls were pretty easy and I had other people around to lead me into controls, which was very helpful for the last control when there were a bunch of unmapped tracks in the area, but not so helpful for the finish split since I got stuck behind Pat and Andre on the single track leading into the finish and I then fumbled the punch as well. Still managed to get the fastest split on the H2, but it stopped me from being clear over all courses since Isaac did the same time on the H3.

Private lesson. Doing some new stuff on my serve that was working well, but hurting my back a bit.

Tennis 1:30:00 [3]

Reabold squad. I was playing well at the start but my back and hip were getting too sore for me to keep playing well at the end.
