Wow! Nice piece after such a layoff. And interesting that you immediately feel so strong. If you'd started out a bit faster, you would have set a new PR for the season on your first day back. You apparently had lots left in the tank to row the final 1000m in 2:02.
And congrats on the G. I walk a lot every day too, here in the city. I think that is a big part of losing weight: when I need food, I have to walk (or bike) to get it!
I think it was a very good part of my time in Firenze. I had to walk about 1.5 miles each way to school, and generally did it twice a day, not dawdling at all. Also walked around town some many days, and did a bunch of running. I was just going to take it easy today, was thinking maybe ending up around 22:45, but felt a little springier, so just let it go. Not really grinding at any point, so maybe the layoff was beneficial for my rowing. Surprised and pleased by developments in the G.
I snuck into your house on my way back from Norfolk and fiddled with your scale.
That makes me feel fatter already, however apocryphal.
If I had thought of it, I would have done it. But I suspect it would be difficult to be stealthy enough to avoid rousing Rhonda.
